About us

The church was first established in 1892 as the “Disciples of Christ” church which served the Grand Valley community for nearly a century. Over the years, it became known as the Grand Valley Church of Christ (GVCC).  On May 31, 1985, the church building was completely demolished by a tornado that swept through the village, causing death, injury and severe damage. The church was rebuilt and continues to grow today.

our BELIEFS:

our TEAM:

We believe that the Bible is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth –

“...no lie comes from the truth.” (1 John 2:21)

We believe that the Bible is the God-breathed, inspired word of God, fully trustworthy in all its teaching, and that it is the final authority on all matters of faith and righteous living. (2 Timothy 3:16–172 Peter 1:20–21).

We believe in the one living, eternal God, Creator of all things, (John 17:3) existing in perfect unity as three divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19–20).  Each member of the Godhead has precisely the same nature, attributes, and being, and is equally worthy of the same glory and honor and obedience (John 1:1–4Acts 5:3–4).

We believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life that restores the broken, the suffering, the lonely and the lost.  He is the light of the world that offers hope, refuge and eternal salvation to all those who call on His name. (John 14:6)

For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.   (2 Timothy 4::3-5)
